This Headspa Experience was created by Relaxology&Wellbeing, it combines a lot of treatments into an immersive holistic experience for all the senses. We use an Aromatherapy Coconut oil brush on the scalp to begin. As we add different pressures, temperatures and our unique techniques the nerve endings respond by constricting and expanding- easing tension spots. We use years of massage experience encouraging the muscles in the neck and shoulders to melt into relaxation, aiding this process is the wonderful hot stones, all the way from the head to the shoulders. Our own Aromatherapy shampoo is used for the cleansing and scrubbing (ASMR Heaven!) We use different Eastern Asian tools here to ensure the scalp and hair are squeaky clean. As we move the head from side to side to ensure these scrubbing tools reach every area of the head-we have ear massage hitting on the pressure points for deepening relaxation, and some Hopi Ear Candling. We add a heated eye mask after working over the forehead/eyebrow muscles and pressure points. With the heated eye mask on you can enjoy the oils and conditioners being combed through the hair. The halo water fountain and shower fountain are used throughout the treatment- with emphasis on the last run of the fountain- in the deep state of relaxation we use the last run of the halo fountain to consciously wash away any stresses and troubles we want to let go of- they wash away down the drain- leaving you freer and lighter.
There are so many sensations, different sounds, scents and textures.
Think extended hair salon wash, with massage and therapies, while laying down in a relaxing environment....
All of the above is included in each 3 booking options of the Headspa Experience, and adding on additional treatments is very popular also! A full body massage and Headspa is as dreamy and stress busting as it gets!
Simply put-it's a treatment that has growing and evolving over time.
Siobhans' Rosemary Oil Head Massage (with Hairplay) is another treatment she has been doing for years and this is what evolved into the Relaxology Headspa®. Over time more and more sensory stimulation being added- including a LOT of requests from clients aswell!
Siobhan has been providing holistic treatments for almost a decade. She holds many qualifications, also professional registrations. She is an extremely dedicated therapist, working full time and her busy diary reflects how sought after she is. Not only are all her treatment services bespoke in application and approach, they are also tailored to the needs of the individual receiving them. The Relaxology Headspa® is no different.
Almost one year of providing Headspa treatments and we are so incredibly honoured to have had such a response, we take it incredibly seriously because we know the length of time people have been waiting- we love to ask what pulls them to the headspa videos? is it the noises ASMR, is it the halo fountain? is it someone working at your head for so long? is it the scrubbing? the neck stretching?..... We are gathering information for two things, one is we want the persons treatment tailored precisely to what they are looking for and have been dreaming about- and the other reason is our own research we've been conducting from we started this in 2023- (researching the impacts and effects of a new treatment in a new region is very interesting!)
We have our early years in beauty qualifications and later years in therapies, massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine, facials, aromatherapy, Eastern Asian Technique- an extensive list of holistic discipline qualifications and many years applying them to gain a wealth of hands on experience.
We put all this knowledge and skill together to create the best treatment we could, staying true to the holistic nature of the treatment.
~ no two massage services are the same
~ no two hairdressing services are the same
~ no two brow services are the same...
With all the services above, we need to vibe with the person providing the service and also be happy and comfortable in the surroundings and setting we are in-
Like everything ~ it all has to be a good fit.
The Headspa scene is only getting started here in Northern Ireland, there are at least four in Belfast (and Dublin has a big salon) we will be spoilt for choice in no time!
It may look like one treatment but it takes disciplines in a few areas combined to achieve i.e a massage or facial therapist isn't (usually) a hairdresser and vice versa
We could
suggest, if you want our opinion, some things to consider when choosing a Headspa service for YOUrself-
Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question, we'd be more than happy to help.
Unfortunately its not possible to enjoy the full benefits of the whole experience with all the scalp tools as the extensions cause an obstruction to their path. Another potential problem is 'tugging' which could be painful but could also damage your extensions depending on which type you have, and we don't want to cause you any pain or be liable for ruining your extensions.
Examples
~Headspa appointments booked between refits and when having a break from extensions-
~Some with extensions have added the Halo fountain running, to their Head,Neck and Shoulder massage on its own as just water, some have opted for shampoo and conditioner without any tools
The treatment can't be done on pregnant women after 20weeks*, it's not a contra-indicated treatment for pregnancy, it's because this treatment requires you to lay on your back for more than 20 minutes. For the length of time that you are laying on your back- it is also not recommended for anyone with severe back problems.
severe breathing troubles or serious health conditions require consent from your GP, for the purposes of relaxation
Any infectious or contagious skin/scalp conditions
And all allergies and/or health conditions disclosed prior to treatment.
Examples
*20 weeks is a guideline, a multiple pregnancy is much sooner as the bump is bigger~ this is a very small risk but blood vessels and blood flow can be restricted, reducing flow between mum & baby, and can also cause blood pressure to drop.
We recommend waiting until after your new arrival.

We don't like to give away too much of our information as unfortunately we find it posted in other places without permission or credit.
All holistic is looking at the whole, our headspa treatment is designed to be grounding, cleansing, conscious and intentional- we aren't working with the scalp and hair as 'attached' to a person, we work with it all as part of the person. All our brain processing, our mind, memories, thoughts, internal dialogue and 'overthinking' all happen where? This is generating a lot of energy that gets 'stuck' and 'caught up' (tension) in the head, scalp, hair, ears, neck, shoulders and face as they are the nearest absorbing areas for all this tension- we use our skills and experience to direct all this along channels, multiple points of reset and pathways- we use the water consciously, cleansing everything away. It's very common for us to hear such things as "I feel brand new", "I feel like a weight has been lifted off" and our personal favourite, with our current waiting times- "that was well worth the wait"
YES!! You can choose one of our packages, or if you like you can add treatments of your own. We are very experienced and been doing this work for many years, we haven't came across a treatment combination yet that we can't choreograph to perfection.
We have 3 headspas! We have 2 stations together in one room and another sole station in one room. We are currently updating our booking system to facilitate all this
~ Individual bookings will have increased availability
~ Bookings for 2 people will have its own dedicated booking page on our booking system
~ Bookings for 3 people will require getting in touch directly to organise
Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question. We'd be more than happy to help
We decided early in this that we weren't adding a blow dry service, our reasons for this were;
~ it would have to have a higher cost because it would take more time and we were trying to keep it as low as we could while valuing our service
~we are not in the 'jack of all trades' category
~ it was inevitable that soon a lot of other headspas would come along and we wanted to establish our service keeping the emphasis on our holistic and therapeutic approach as top priority
~It was important to stay true to ourselves and our belief in our service, our strengths, skills and expertise in the treatment that we created- We are delighted that it could not have gone any better, we have found that there is so much of a market for our approach that we have had to expand.
This isn't something that has been a concern for any of our thousands of users, or the hundreds on our waiting lists- but it has sadly become something that has been used against us by some people using exaggerating, misleading and negative comments for comparative gain.
We believe that the Relaxology Headspa ® has been established for the holistic and therapeutic treatment that we intended it to be, we have reached the right demographic of people who want what our service is offering them- Now we will look at removing the only negative comment that has ever come our way, in almost a decade of operating.
We are not hairdressers, and would not claim to be able to do something that takes natural talent in that area, creative flare in the field and years in the industry to achieve.
We are currently looking at having hairdryers available for anyone who wishes to quickly dry their hair off themselves.
